The Administration’s aid cuts to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras – aimed at programs that directly address the root causes driving people to flee their homes – would have a devastating impact on a part of the world whose fragility is already felt here at home.

At just 0.035% of the federal budget, America’s assistance to Central America has proven effective at tackling violence and reducing homicide rates by up to 78% in some of toughest neighborhoods in the region.

Now is not the moment to take our foot off the gas pedal.
