Abbott
Abbott Laboratories has unveiled a coronavirus test that can tell if someone is infected in as little as five minutes. The small size and portability of the test allows it to be used in almost any health-care setting. Abbott is also donating more than $4.4 million in diagnostics, nutrition products and funding to fight COVID-19.
Action Against Hunger
Action Against Hunger’s programs and teams in over 40 countries worldwide have been actively working to contain the spread of the virus while continuing to respond to ongoing crises. In addition to providing direct support to affected people, they have also been building more resilient health, food, and social protection systems.
ADRA International
ADRA international has partnered with the Seventh-day Adventist Church to support projects in 96 countries to respond to COVID-19. The Adventist Church operates 168 hospitals and 442 clinics around the world, and in many locations they are the only modern healthcare entities in operation. ADRA has also joined forces with other partner organizations to continue to deliver medical supplies and other resources to hospitals and healthcare facilities to assist affected communities.
Alight
Alight, in partnership with IDEO.org, co-created a global health messaging campaign that reached 100 million people across 86 countries. Through Alight’s In Our Hands COVID-19 campaign, critical health messaging was able to reach people in some of the most isolated parts of the world. The campaign was tailored to meet people where they’re at—from the most remote rural communities in the Somalia Peninsula to out of school kids in Pakistan to Catholic nuns fighting COVID-19 in Brazil. Since one of the biggest challenges is reaching people in remote areas, we co-created myth-busting messages, and designed a program to connect with people in unique and creative ways. From enlisting the help of social media influencers to share on their own channels using digital ads to creating tailored messaging for radio, TV, posters, stickers, megaphone, and door-to-door messaging, Alight was able to touch the hardest to reach places with fun, creative, and uplifting messages to help others understand and respond to COVID-19.
American Heart Association
American Heart Association is committing $2.5 million for fast-tracked heart and brain focused scientific research of COVID-19.
Amgen
Amgen is donating $12.5 million to support U.S. and global relief efforts. The funds will be used to support emergency response efforts in Amgen’s U.S. and international communities, patient-focused organizations that are mounting their own response efforts, and international relief efforts by Direct Relief and International Medical Corps.
Airbnb
Airbnb Hosts around the world opened their doors to tens of thousands of frontline workers fighting the spread of COVID-19, including healthcare professionals and relief workers. In this effort, Airbnb and Airbnb.org partnered with nonprofit organizations, governments, and other stakeholders, including the NHS in the UK, Mexican Red Cross, 1199SEIU and New York State, the City of New Orleans, and Los Angeles County and organizations in Italy and France. Between March 2020 and 2021, more than 225,000 places were offered to stay and frontline workers and other first responders booked more than 246,000 nights via the program.
BD
As one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world, BD is deploying our capabilities, expertise and scale to address critical health needs related to coronavirus – from our diagnostic offerings to detect SARS-CoV-2, to real-time informatics and electronic surveillance technology, to essential medical devices to support patient care. BD and the BD Foundation has provided approximately $2.8 million in philanthropic support to help nearly a dozen of its trusted non-profit partners protect vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of these social investments support healthcare workers in the United States, Europe, Latin America, China, and India. BD volunteers also responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. Clinically-trained associates in BD sites around the world volunteered their time to augment hospital staff in communities hard-hit by COVID-19; and BD associates from a broad range of disciplines delivered virtual trainings to teach community and non-profit organizations how to contain its spread.
Boeing
This year, Boeing has raised more than $33 million to charitable causes worldwide.
Books for Africa
BFA has continued its mission of providing schoolbooks to students across Africa throughout the pandemic, with a heightened emphasis on the provision of medical resource books.
CARE International
CARE provides training for health workers, strengthens hygiene measures, and also distributes drinking water, food, medication, disinfectants, and medical protective equipment. CARE has established emergency aid plans in 75 of the 100 countries of operation, and $37 million of its budget has been reallocated to COVID-19 response.
Cardno Emerging Markets
As part of the Mastercard Foundation COVID-19 Recovery and Resiliency Program, Cardno International Development partnered with the Grassroots Business Fund to implement a $6 million loan facility in Kenya. This program provided relief to over 21,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises of which over 80% of the recipients were women and over 40% youth.
Catholic Relief Services
To date, Catholic Relief Services has reached 28.3 million people across 46 countries with a range of vital and lifesaving assistance. We continue to focus on vaccination and vaccine rollout support. Meanwhile, comprehensive CRS programming continues to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, strengthen the capacity of and support for local health responders, and assist extremely vulnerable families and communities as they manage the long-term impacts of the pandemic.
Cargill
Cargill has contributed more than $40 million for Covid-19 relief and recovery efforts through global, regional, and local partnerships to support vulnerable families facing food insecurity, protect medical workers with personal protective equipment and sanitation supplies, and support farmers, ranchers, agricultural communities, and food industry workers who rely on the food system for their livelihoods. As vaccines became available around the world, Cargill partnered with organizations such as the U.N. Foundation’s ACT Accelerator Fund and CARE to support educational campaigns and equitable distribution. In addition, Cargill launched the Cargill Cares Employee Disaster Relief Fund to help employees impacted by COVID-19 and other personal or natural disasters. Since it was established in 2020, the Fund has provided more than $27 million to support employees in 32 countries.
Chevron
Chevron Corporation provided a $300,000 contribution from the Chevron Global Community Fund to Give2Asia, for work with the China Women’s Development Foundation. Chevron has donated over $12 million to humanitarian efforts to address COVID-19, including funding for education and medical support. Of this $12 million, $1.2 million went to supporting health services in Western Australia and $2.3 million to the provision of medical equipment in Kazakhstan.
ChildFund International
ChildFund has launched a COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan which aims to provide $56 million in aid for emergency response. The Response Plan hopes to impact the recovery of 6.3 million children and their families from the pandemic
Citi
Citi and the Citi Foundation have committed more than $100 million in support of COVID-19 related community relief and economic recovery efforts globally. This includes more than $35 million in new funding, adding to the previously announced $65 million in grants and charitable contributions to ongoing relief and support for longer-term economic recovery in communities impacted by the global pandemic. These contributions include $2 million from Citi employees through a donation matching program.
Coca Cola
The Coca-Cola Foundation is providing extra humanitarian and disaster relief funding to over 100 organizations and communities in the U.S. and abroad. Total grant funding to local organizations and vulnerable communities is over $55 million to date. Recipients include the UNDP, the Red Cross, the United Way, the Boys and Girls Club of America, MedShare International and CARE. Additionally, Coca-Cola Philippines is redirecting almost $3 million earmarked for advertising to assistance for frontline workers and affected communities.

Conservation International
Conservation International is partnering with the BrazilFoundation to raise $1 million for humanitarian relief to support communities in the Brazilian Amazon who have been most affected by the pandemic.
Counterpart International
In response to the global pandemic, Counterpart International has prioritized the dissemination of community-based public health information. Counterpart International’s efforts have included the following: Facilitating multi-stakeholder coordination, countering the spread of disinformation through inclusive outreach and messaging, strengthening community-based training and capacity building of WASH systems and community health workers, reinforcing supply chain management, combatting food insecurity, generating economic support, and both monitoring and building government capacity to handle the COVID-19 response.
DAI
In addition to its frontline work on global health and safety net responses, DAI is deploying a range of development services to assist governments and international donors in the fight against COVID-19. In Egypt, for example, DAI is working through the USAID Macro-Economic Stabilization and Reform Project to help relevant ministries address the economic impact of COVID-19. In Somalia, DAI’s EU Somalia Technical Assistance Facility is advising the European Union and other donors on practical responses to COVID-19 through a shock-responsive social assistance system.
Data2X
Data2X’s research has demonstrated the gendered impact of the COVID-19 crisis, particularly its harmful effects on women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion. To ensure sustainable and equitable recovery, Data2X is advocating for greater collection and use of gender data to drive policies that better respond to the unique needs of women, girls, and other vulnerable communities.
Deloitte
In response to the spread of coronavirus around the world, Deloitte has developed an accelerator designed to enable health care organizations to digitally triage, monitor and remotely manage treatment of coronavirus patients and quarantined persons. Deloitte has also committed more than $12.5 million in investments in the form of direct monetary donations, medical equipment, and pro bono project work. These efforts are targeted at helping frontline healthcare workers, supporting the millions of students globally who are out of school, and providing communities in need with donations and volunteers.
DuPont
DuPont is donating equipment and protective clothing to most affected areas throughout China through the China Red Cross Foundation. DuPont has also donated probiotic products to citizens.
EDC
Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) worked to compile a vast catalogue of Interactive Audio Instruction programs and developed guidance for their usage so they could be repurposed for broadcast needs by ministries of education in developing nations. This allowed them to provide education to children while schools are closed. To facilitate professional trainings for leaders in youth and higher education institutions, EDC adapted in-person trainings to online sessions that ensured the work continued even when people couldn’t convene. And finally, to address health issues exacerbated by distance during the pandemic, EDC created a phone tree for health case managers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This tool was used to check on families and collect data on AIDS prevention and management during the pandemic to ensure those receiving or needing treatment had the support and care they need.
Eleanor Crook Foundation
Through the Global Nutrition Financing Alliance, the Eleanor Crook Foundation partners with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to mobilize $100 million in private sector investments to tackle malnutrition within low- and middle-income countries over five years. The Alliance seeks to address increasing malnutrition rates and mitigate the strain on global health and food systems, as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, rising conflict, and the worsening climate crisis.
ExxonMobil
In response to the pandemic, Exxon Mobil is supporting COVID-19 initiatives and projects around the world, including in China, Italy, Papa New Guinea, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Argentina, and South Africa. In China, Exxon Mobile donated $200,000 to the China Charity Federation, provided 42,000 medical masks and 4,300 protective suits as well as lubricants to support the construction of hospitals and ambulances. Moreover, ExxonMobil Nigeria made a $100,000 donation for government-run health centers to purchase COVID-19 test kits, ventilators, and hospital beds.
FedEx
As part of their “Delivering for Good” initiative, FedEx has made more than 7,000 humanitarian aid shipments globally. This includes food aid, medical equipment, and blood donations.
Feed the Children
Feed the Children is working all over the world to combat food insecurity, which has only been exacerbated by COVID-19. In El Salvador, they partnered with Convoy of Hope to provide emergency food distribution to 1,184 families to support children who are out of school and not receiving meals. In the Philippines, Feed the Children partnered with 4Life Philippines, Teleperformance, and Korea Hope Foundation to provide food packs to 4,140 households. Additionally, in Kenya, Feed the Children has worked to install handwashing stations.
FHI 360
FHI 360 provides a full range of support in the COVID-19 response, from facilitating COVID-19 vaccine distribution and improving case management to developing remote learning plans and socio-emotional support systems for health workers, women, children, and youth. FHI 360 leverages their HIV and TB programs in more than 60 countries to support countrywide COVID-19 treatment and response and strengthen oxygen ecosystems through rapid capacity assessments, procurement and importation of equipment, and supplies. The organization addresses vaccine hesitancy by countering misinformation and creating demand for vaccines. Other areas of expertise are disease prevention, detection and response, and diagnostic capacity building. FHI 360 is also working to ensure that the COVID-19 response builds upon and strengthens the health systems in the countries we support. 1,000 Days, the nutrition initiative of subsidiary FHI Solutions, advocates for the best policies, systems ,and environments that provide the conditions for families to thrive, including nutrition in COVID-19 responses, access to paid leave, and foreign assistance funding.
Food for the Hungry
In Peru, Food for the Hungry has conducted a community-based COVID vaccination awareness campaign to provide trusted information, dispel misinformation, and address behavioral barriers to vaccine acceptance, and we are replicating these interventions in other country programs throughout the world.
Friends of the Global Fight
To fight COVID-19, the Global Fund created a new mechanism to channel donor resources, the COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM). Resources channeled through C19RM have gone toward preparedness assessments, laboratory testing, surveillance infrastructure, infection control in health facilities and public information campaigns, among other activities. In 2021, the Global Fund’s board awarded $3.37 billion through the new funding stream, on top of more than $500 million mobilized in 2020. Projects sponsored by the Global Fund to combat and mitigate disruptions from COVID-19 are in place in 124 countries and regions.
Gates Foundation
Since January 2020, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed more than US$2 billion to the global COVID-19 response. Our funding commitments for COVID-19 response draw from three sources: newly allocated funding beyond our annual program budgets, at-risk financing from the foundation’s Strategic Investment Fund, and program funding that has been redirected to pandemic response.
Gavi
Gavi is making funding available immediately for lower-income countries to respond to the crisis and allowing qualified countries to reallocate portions of existing grants to respond to COVID-19. This will allow countries to fill critical health gaps whilst they wait for specific funds being allocated by the global community for the COVID-19 response. Gavi also joined the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, a global collaboration of global health organizations in an unprecedented effort to accelerate the development, production, and equitable access to new COVID-19 technologies. The group will seek to implement innovative diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines at record speed and at record scale in a bid to defeat COVID-19.
GE
The GE Foundation has pledged $1 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund with the UN Foundation.
Global Communities
Global Communities is pivoting its existing interventions to respond to COVID-19 in Iraq, Sri Lanka, Syria, Brazil, Argentina, Rwanda, the DRC, Honduras, Sri Lanka, Ghana and Yemen.
Global Health Council
The Global Health Council led a series of virtual town halls titled “COVID Conversations.” They have also launched three separate funds to respond to the outbreak. The GHC COVID-19 response fund is led by GHC, but they have also launched the Solidarity Response Fund to support WHO efforts and the Global Impact Coronavirus Outbreak Fund as part of their partnership with Global Impact’s Charity Alliance.
Global Impact
Global Impact’s Charity Alliance partners launched a COVID Response fund. To help organizations navigate international funding, Global Impact has also released the “COVID-19 Regulatory and Response Matrix,” which tracks response in 138 countries across the globe.
Global Innovation Fund
The Global Innovation Fund supported the COVID Response Alliance for Social Entrepreneurs in partnership with the World Economic Forum. GIF also committed $140,000 to increase public health messaging in Cambodia and the Philippines and launched Behavioral Insight Teams to combat the pandemic through behavioral change in Indonesia.
Google
Over the past two+ years, the COVID-19 crisis demonstrated the need for technology companies, governments, and public health institutions to work together to direct people to trustworthy and up to date information. As we move toward ending the acute phase of the pandemic, ensuring access to clear, factual, potentially life-saving information is as critical as ever. Google.org is announcing a new commitment of $150M in donated Search ads to help government and nonprofit organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and GAVI and government agencies connect users looking for information on COVID-19 related topics with credible sources. This brings Google’s total in-kind contribution to COVID-19 recovery to over $1 billion. As part of this effort, Google has worked closely with partners like the WHO to identify and combat harmful COVID-19 misinformation, while simultaneously researching messaging that most resonates with users searching for answers. Many of them are already being applied to other global campaigns, including for the growing public health emergency tied to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
International Center for Research on Women
The ICRW has launched a COVID-19 Relief campaign to support women and girls across the globe who have been impacted by the pandemic.
International Youth Foundation
In May 2020, the International Youth Foundation (IYF) announced the creation of the Global Youth Resiliency Fund (GYRF) to put resources in the hands of youth-led ventures, both social enterprises and nonprofits, that are delivering vital work in response to the pandemic. With generous support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Burberry, 28 youth-led organizations around the world received funding to support their critical work in response to Covid-19.
Islamic Relief USA
IRUSA has responded to the global pandemic with $10 million in COVID relief across 33 countries.
Lockheed Martin Company
Lockheed Martin Company advanced more than $50 million to small- and medium-sized business partners in their supply chain to ensure they have the financial means to continue to operate, sustain jobs, and support the economy. Lockheed Martin Company will donate $10 million to non-profit organizations involved in COVID-19 related relief and assistance, with emphasis on veterans and military families.
MARS, Inc
Mars, INC donated over $42 million in cash and in-kind products and services towards COVID relief efforts between 2020 and 2021. This includes $5 million to CARE, $2 million to the World Food Programme, and $1 million to the Humane Society International.
MasterCard
MasterCard contributed $25 million to establish the COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Wellcome to speed the development of and access to therapies. MasterCard’s total public and private donor funding has reached close to $300 million. Additionally, the MasterCard foundation contributed $10 million in emergency grants, as well as $10 million to data.org to promote initiatives that use data science to drive economic recovery globally.
ME&A
The USAID Bureau for Global Health awarded ME&A a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract in May to provide evaluation, assessment, and learning support for health-related projects and activities, which includes COVID-19 as part of a broader portfolio. Moreover, ME&A is assisting USAID with COVID-19 management through activities under separate contracts in Bangladesh, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Tanzania.
Meijer
Meijer amplified it 14-year-old hunger relief program, Simply Give, in response to COVID-19 with an additional $2.2M and has also donated an additional $4 million to the United Way to support COVID-19 relief.
Merck
Merck has committed to more than $30 million to COVID-19 relief projects across the globe and has also committed $3 million to support maternal health challenges intensified by the pandemic. Additionally, Merck contributed $225,000 to Direct Relief, Project HOPE and Give2Asia, to help provide much-needed supplies to China, as well as aid for frontline health workers and hospitals. The company also donated nearly $145,000 to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation to support their response efforts.
Mercy Corps
Mercy Corps is fundraising $25 million for a COVID-19 Resilience Fund to protect the most vulnerable and at risk against COVID-19, meet the immediate needs of families and communities, and help the world’s most vulnerable prepare for the economic shock of the virus.
Millennium Water Alliance
To combat the COVID-19 pandemic, MWA’s members are responding with short-term disaster assistance, provision of educational messages, support to governments in developing response strategies, implementation of handwashing facilities, and development of standards and best practices for COVID-19 response efforts.
MSH (Management Sciences for Health)
MSH has so far supported 27 countries in confronting both the immediate and long-term challenges of COVID-19. From training more than 50,000 health care workers in over 5,000 health facilities in infection prevention and control, to providing millions of people with vital COVID vaccination information in Africa and Latin America, we are supporting countries and communities through every step of the pandemic. Today, MSH is supporting vaccination introduction and distribution in 17 countries. In the last quarter of 2021 alone, MSH assistance in Afghanistan, Madagascar, Malawi, and Ukraine resulted in more than 8 million people receiving their first COVID-19 vaccine dose and close to 10 million people receiving their second dose.
NBA
In response to COVID-19, the NBA launched NBA Together, an international campaign to support, engage, and educate youth and families on coronavirus prevention. As part of NBA Together, the NBA, players, and teams generated more than $100 million to supporting part-time arena staff and healthcare workers, supplied more than 10 million PPE and donated 9 million meals to food-insecure populations across the world.
One Acre Fund
One Acre Fund delivered 2.3 million kilograms of free soap in six countries and have committed to providing soap to 1 million farmers. 4,800 field officers are training farmers to protect themselves against COVID-19, building hand-washing stations, and making simple masks. One Acre Fund’s efforts have reached more than 4.5 million households in multiple countries.
Open Society Foundation
Open Society Foundation has partnered with GAVI and MedAccess for a new risk sharing facility to support the COVAX Cost-Sharing Mechanism. The risk sharing facility is in the form of a $200 million procurement guarantee to assist low- and middle-income countries to procure additional vaccines through COVAX. MedAccess will provide $100 million and Open Society $100 million, for up to 18 months. The COVAX Cost-Sharing Mechanism was launched in partnership between GAVI, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank in July 2021. Countries with multilateral development bank (MDB)-approved vaccination programs can make requests to COVAX for additional vaccine doses. To date, GAVI has ordered 140 million additional vaccine doses through cost sharing on behalf of 15 AMC countries, at a total value of $800 million. Countries specify the preferred type of vaccine, number of doses, and their desired delivery window, enabling COVAX to aggregate demand and exercise its options under agreements with vaccine manufacturers. The MDB provides a payment confirmation, which enables COVAX to confirm its order. MedAccess and Open Society’s guarantees provide a backstop for GAVI during the period from exercising its option to country payment being confirmed; without the guarantees GAVI would be required to hold donor funds in reserve.
Opportunity International
Opportunity International launched a Rapid Response fund to support COVID-19 relief efforts and have hosted a series of webinars also titled “Rapid Response.”
Panagora Group
In response to the pandemic, the Panagora Group is working to support the USAID and the Philippines’ Office of Health with health programming and its COVID-19 response. Additionally, the Panagora Group is supporting USAID and the Government of South Africa’s response to COVID-19 by assisting with funding proposals for response activities, strengthening procurement and supply chain systems, and helping to maintain routine HIV monitoring.
Pathfinder International
Pathfinder International launched a targeted response to help women, girls, and their communities remain resilient in the face of COVID-19. They are working with governments in 17 countries to strengthen health and social systems that provide access to sexual and reproductive health services.
PCI
PCI is working to respond to coronavirus in 13 countries, including the United States. Teams are helping to ensure the most vulnerable families, who have been hit the hardest during this outbreak, have access to clean water, food, healthcare and resources to prevent further spread of COVID-19. PCI is also prioritizing maternal health, rural development, and countering instances of gender-based violence which have increased since the pandemic began.
Pfizer
From the beginning, Pfizer began collaboration with BioNTech to jointly develop a COVID-19 vaccine using BioNTech’s messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine program while simultaneously investing in global manufacturing capabilities to supply the vaccine at scale. Pfizer will continue to follow the science and closely track emerging variants to address the pandemic, and further our efforts to provide access to the vaccine. Pfizer is firmly committed to equitable and affordable access to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and is continuing to expand and enhance manufacturing capabilities and processes to ensure a number of supply pathways, including direct supply agreements with country governments, agreements with supranational organizations like the COVAX facility, government donation programs and humanitarian donation. As of May 1, 2022, globally we have delivered more than 3.4 billion vaccines to 179 countries and territories in every region of the world, including 1.4 billion doses delivered to low- and middle-income countries.
P&G
P&G is producing WHO-approved and recommended sanitizer and providing it to relief organizations, hospitals and health authorities. P&G chairman, president & CEO David Taylor also recently announced that “work is under way to produce critically needed face masks at nearly a dozen P&G manufacturing sites around the world.” Additionally, P&G’s in-kind support now exceeds $30 million across 20 countries, including partnering with the Lost Food Project to support food security in Malaysia.
Phillip Morris International
To date, PMI has pledged in excess of $24 million to support actions against the pandemic.
PhRMA
PhRMA is coordinating resources to develop a vaccine and treatment for COVID-19. They are also working to expand manufacturing capabilities, increase testing, and provide financial support to treatment developers.
Plan International
Plan International is working to ensure girls and their communities not just return to normal, but a better world. They are prioritizing girls education through safe and inclusive spaces, ending child marriage and gender-based violence, and preparing young women to enter whatever career path they choose for themselves.
Population Services International
Population Services International (PSI) has integrated COVID-19 activities into our efforts to shape stronger and more resilient mixed health systems by leveraging our health systems strengthening and global health security work. We collaborate with governments to set a foundation for improved surveillance, increase COVID testing and vaccine uptake, build the capacity of the health workforce using rapidly scalable digital solutions, and strengthen pandemic preparedness. PSI’s COVID-related project portfolio has accumulated $27M across 15 institutional awards and an additional $7.5M in corporate/strategic partnerships across 5 main awards.
Project Concern International
Project Concern International has adapted their ongoing projects COVID-19 and are prioritizing countering increased instances of GBV since the pandemic began, as well as promoting maternal health, food security, and rural development.

The Rockefeller Foundation has committed to $100 million in COVID-19 relief efforts globally, including $50 million in U.S. response.
Rotary International
In response to COVID-19, Rotary International has launched a variety of efforts to combat the pandemic. For example, Rotary clubs in Italy and China raised funds to purchase ventilators and protective gear for overstretched hospitals while clubs in Nigeria and Pakistan conducted campaigns to raise awareness about the threat of the virus.
Save the Children
Save the Children rapidly adapted their existing work to combat the pandemic and prepared for COVID-19 outbreaks in countries with weakened health systems, fragile contexts, or limited capacity to respond. To date, their support has reached 11.8 million children and families across 88 countries. Save the Children also launched Agenda for Action, a project that calls on the global community to unite and protect a generation of children, and their Protect a Generation report contains the findings from their global survey of over 25,000 people to find out how their lives have changed and hear about the biggest issues for them.
Sesame Workshop
Sesame Workshop’s Caring for Each Other initiative supports children and families as they navigate the evolving challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Harnessing the power of the beloved Sesame Street Muppets, Sesame Workshop provides tools and resources to provide comfort, manage anxiety, and stay physically and mentally healthy, all while ensuring that children can continue learning in the face of disruptions to education.
Siemens
Siemens COVID-19 relief fund reached over $18 million and is used to support aid across the global Consortium of more than twenty high-level companies. In partnership with these companies, Siemens is working to build thousands of ventilators.
Syngenta
Syngenta Seedcare created a COVID-19 awareness raising video for agricultural workers that has been adapted into 14 different languages and made in-kind and monetary donations in the countries they operate in around the world.
United Nations Foundation
UNF established a World Health Organization COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund which has raised $235 million so far from the U.S. private sector and grassroots to support WHO’s work to battle COVID-19 internationally. Of this, $164 million has gone to the WHO, $10 million to UNHCR, $10 million to CEPI, $10 million to UNICEF, $20 million to the WFP, and $5 million to UNRWA.
University Research Co.
URC has committed to securing the Global Health Security Agenda by addressing infectious diseases, including COVID-19, by employing a global network of partners that can respond rapidly, coordinate detection of disease and impact mitigation, and help nations prevent and recover from disease outbreaks.
UPS
UPS has committed over $6 million in grants, logistics and transportation, and collaboration with more than a dozen relief agencies.
US Fund for UNICEF
UNICEF’s multifaceted response to the pandemic has resulted in the following: more than 1.48 billion COVID-19 doses delivered across 145 countries; 1.4 billion syringes delivered to 99 countries; 14.2 million safety boxes for disposal of used syringes; personal protective equipment delivered to health workers, including 395.5 million gloves, 29.7 million N95 respirators, 476.9 million surgical masks, 49,170 oxygen concentrators, 9 million COVID-19 diagnostic tests, and 12.1 million medical gowns.
Walmart
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have committed $43 million of cash and in-kind to support organizations on the front lines responding to COVID-19 to strengthen the global public health response, bolster food security, and support the needs of local communities in the U.S. and internationally.
Winrock International
As the U.S. government’s largest implementer of counter-trafficking work, Winrock has made the safety and security of migrants a top priority. It has pivoted the work of ongoing projects to concentrate on ensuring that migrants have the food, shelter, and sanitary supplies they need and on amplifying important public health messages to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
World Food Program USA
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest provider of humanitarian food assistance. In response to Covid-19 — which caused the number of people facing crisis levels of acute hunger globally to nearly double — WFP is providing cash-based assistance, in-kind food aid, nutrition programming, and providing technical support to governments around the world. WFP was approached by no less than 40 countries during and after the pandemic to bolster their social safety net programs. WFP is uniquely positioned to support the expansion of social protection programs through its field presence and operational expertise in more than 80 countries.
World Hope International
As a primary responder to the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone from 2014 to 2016, World Hope International is utilizing its experience to address infectious disease outbreaks and help communities with critical resources like clean water, medical supplies, PPE, and more.
World Vision
World Vision has contributed more than $47 million in cash assistance and reached over 6 million people with food assistance. In China, World Vision aims to support nearly 1.3 million people to make sure their families have the protective equipment that they need. They have also been working to support medical response and WASH capacity since the start of the pandemic.
1,000 Days
1,000 days continues to advocate for the funding of nutrition in COVID-19 responses, access to paid leave, USAID funding, and health insurance in middle- and low-income communities.
