Tariq joins the USGLC after serving Chairman Raul Grijalva of Arizona of the Natural Resources Committee where he worked closely with House Majority Leadership and managed the Committee members’ priorities on issues ranging from public lands to climate change. Previously, Tariq held positions as Western New York’s Deputy Regional Director and Legislative Correspondence Manager for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York. There he helped broker deals on foreign affairs, energy, and environmental issues. In addition to his congressional experience, Tariq worked for various nonprofits where he focused on serving minority communities, advancing humanitarian aid and international development. Tariq holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York, Buffalo State.
