WASHINGTON – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Executive Director, Jason Gross, issued the following statement on the Administration’s urgent funding request for Afghanistan:
The USGLC welcomes this proposal for additional resources to support the ongoing efforts to protect and evacuate U.S. citizens and Afghan allies who supported the U.S. mission and served with American NGOs and contractors. These resources will also provide much-needed humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan, and it is essential American organizations have the necessary approvals from the U.S. government to deliver that assistance.
As Congress considers this package, we must bolster our efforts to relocate the tens of thousands of Afghan allies, both SIV applicants and eligible “Priority 2” Afghan allies, whose lives are endangered because of their work on U.S.-funded programs over the past two decades.
