This week the USGLC hosted two executive roundtables in Clayton, MO and Detroit, MI with Michael Metzler, Executive Director of Private Sector Engagement at USAID. The conversations with Mr. Metzler focused on opportunities for both communities to be engaged with the agency’s work and what USAID and the U.S. government at large are doing to counter the rise of Chinese influence around the world. In Clayton we were welcomed by the city’s Mayor, Michelle Harris and in Detroit we were welcomed by our new Michigan Co-Chair Rep. Brenda Lawrence and the Vice Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, Fay Beydoun.
