Mia serves as the Communications Project Manager of the USGLC. Prior to joining, she worked as the Assistant Director of Marketing for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. There, Mia integrated marketing and communications to increase the university’s enrollment of international and military-affiliated students and implemented the university’s international programs in partnership with the U.S. State Department that promote intercultural understanding and diplomacy in foreign policy, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship, U.S. Fulbright Program, and International Visitors Leadership Program, University Partnerships Initiative Senegal, and the Peace Corps Prep Program. She started her career in local newsrooms in her home state, Nebraska, where she wrote and covered local community engagement, breaking news, and the state legislature. Mia earned a Fulbright Teaching Assistant Award to Timor-Leste and her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
