WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition President and CEO, Liz Schrayer, released the following statement on the selection of Representative Tom Cole (R-OK) to head the House Appropriations Committee:
The USGLC community congratulates Chairman Cole on this important new leadership role, coming at a time of great significance on the global stage. As a leading voice for American global leadership, Chairman Cole is a smart choice to take the helm of this critical Committee to help ensure America has the resources to confront rising threats from Russia, China, and Iran and to protect America’s security and economic interests here at home.
The USGLC has been honored to host Chairman Cole, including in his home state of Oklahoma, where he recently stated how “investing in development and diplomacy is a crucial component of our nation’s national security toolkit and showcases the very best of American values to the world.”
As Chairman Cole takes the gavel, we also salute Chairwoman Kay Granger’s historic leadership of the House Appropriations Committee. USGLC was proud to honor her in 2013 and are truly grateful for her longstanding commitment to strengthening bipartisan support for America’s global leadership.
