USGLC Congratulates Representative Elise Stefanik on her Selection as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Liz Schrayer, President and CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) released the following statement on the selection of Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations:

USGLC congratulates Congresswoman Elise Stefanik on her selection by President-elect Trump to serve as the next U.S. Representative to the United Nations.

Since being elected in 2014 as the youngest woman to ever serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Stefanik has shown an eagerness to serve our nation. She has held senior positions on the House Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, where she has pursued bipartisan legislation to confront America’s rivals and support strategic allies.

Rep. Stefanik touted Ronald Reagan’s “peace through strength” vision in her statement upon being announced as the UN Ambassadorial nominee, adding, “America continues to be the beacon of the world, but we expect and must demand that our friends and allies be strong partners in the peace we seek.”

In this moment of converging global threats that are simply too big for the U.S. to tackle alone, America’s leadership at the UN will be critical to confronting our adversaries and addressing global crises. As her nomination moves forward, we look forward to working with Rep. Stefanik to advance America’s values and interests around the world.
