Exports are an important and rapidly expanding part of New Hampshire’s economic prosperity. New Hampshire sells a variety of products to all corners of the world, exporting a total of more than $7 billion worth of goods in 2022. Overall, nearly 2,500 companies in New Hampshire export to overseas markets, with international trade supporting over 182,000 jobs in the state.

• In New Hampshire, 182,200 jobs were supported by trade, representing 20.1% of all jobs in the state.^1,2
• In 2022, 2,477 companies exported goods from New Hampshire of which 86% were small- and medium-sized enterprises. In 2021, 50,200 people were employed by affiliates of companies at least 50% foreign-owned.^3,4

• New Hampshire exported $6.4 billion in goods to foreign markets in 2021, a 16% increase compared to 2020 driven by continued economic recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy.⁵

• Agricultural exports are important to New Hampshire's economy, totaling $74 million in 2022, according to the USDA.⁶
• Since 2014, the U.S. Export-Import Bank has financed $188 million in exports from 26 companies in New Hampshire.⁷
• Since 1992, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency has helped facilitate $4.4 million in exports from New Hampshire companies.⁹

• From 2022-2023, 2,942 international students were enrolled in New Hampshire colleges and universities and contributed $121 million to the New Hampshire economy.¹⁰

• Since 1961, 1,826 Peace Corps volunteers from New Hampshire have served in dozens of countries overseas.¹¹
