Wyoming’s international engagement fuels job growth and helps to increase its exports. Over 500 Wyoming companies exported $2.1 billion worth of goods in 2023, which helped support over 77,000 jobs in the state.

• In Wyoming, 77,400 jobs were supported by trade, representing 18.8% of all jobs in the state.^1,2
• In 2022, 507 companies exported goods from Wyoming of which 82% were small- and medium-sized enterprises. In 2021, 8,100 people were employed by affiliates of companies at least 50% foreign-owned.^3,4

• Wyoming exported $2.1 billion in goods to foreign markets in 2023, an 11% increase compared to 2022. Wyoming’s largest markets were:⁵

  • Chile ($263 million)
  • Brazil ($221 million)
  • Indonesia ($155 million)
  • South Korea ($141 million)
• Agricultural exports are important to Wyoming's economy, totaling $409.6 million in 2022, according to the USDA.⁶
• Since 2014, the U.S. Export-Import Bank has financed $138 million in exports from 8 companies in Wyoming.⁷

• From 2022-2023, 805 international students were enrolled in Wyoming colleges and universities and contributed $19 million to the Wyoming economy.¹⁰

• Since 1961, 547 Peace Corps volunteers from Wyoming have served in dozens of countries overseas.¹¹
