Senator Jeff Flake

U.S. Senate

Senator Jeff Flake is the junior United States Senator from Arizona. He also served as a U.S. Representative for Arizona from 2001 to 2013, representing Arizona’s 6th congressional district. As a member of the U.S. Senate, Senator Flake sits on the Judiciary Committee, the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and Foreign Relations Committee where he also serves as ranking member of Subcommittee on African Affairs.


Lt. General William “Kip” Ward

U.S. Army (Ret.)

Lt. General William “Kip” E. Ward, U.S. Army (Ret.) served as the first commander of U.S. Africa Command from 2007-2011. During his 40 years of service he held several senior positions, including Deputy Commander of U.S. European Command, Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, and Commander of the Stabilization Force in Bosnia. Today he serves as the President and COO of SENTEL Corporation and is a member of USGLC’s National Security Advisory Council.

Bios

Senator Jeff Flake

Senator Flake was elected to the Senate in 2012 and serves as the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations’ Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health Policy. He supports global engagement and has said that “foreign assistance is a critical and necessary component of American diplomacy, which safeguards national security interests.” Prior to the Senate, he served 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives. Senator Flake has lived in Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa and speaks fluent Afrikaans. He and his family live in Mesa, AZ.

 

General William “Kip” Ward

Dana Hyde

Dana J. Hyde became Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation in May 2014. A former State Department and White House official, she is a law and public policy professional with expertise in economic growth and resource management in the United States and abroad. Before MCC, she was Associate Director at the Office of Management and Budget and she served at the State Department where she led creation of the Office of Deputy Secretary for Management and Resources and then served as Senior Advisor to Deputy Secretary Jack Lew. Ms. Hyde served as counsel to the 9/11 Commission, and practiced law in London and Washington. She is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and holds a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
