The latest addition to the USAID team is new Chief of Staff Sean Carroll, former Program Director of the Club of Madrid for Democratic Transition Consolidation.  As Chief of Staff, Carroll’s responsibilities include managing USAID’s front office, working through interagency issues, overseeing core strategic and operational priorities and coordinating strategic internal and external communications.  Prior to his position at the Club of Madrid, Carroll was Senior Fellow and Director at the Inter-American Dialogue and served as a Consultant to the U.N. World Food Program.

Speaking on Carroll’s qualifications, Raj Shah said: “with his breadth of global experience in development, government, politics and policy, Sean Carroll is going to be a great asset at USAID.  I very much look forward to working with him and to counting on his leadership at AID.  We are eager to have him on board.”
