Government Relations Assistant

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking a detail-oriented professional for the position of Government Relations Assistant. The Government Relations Assistant will join a talented and high-performing team responsible for USGLC’s outreach to Capitol Hill on the importance of America’s global leadership and a strong and effective International Affairs Budget. The position will report to the Director of Government Relations and is based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities Include

  • Administrative and Data Support
    • Track USGLC interactions with Members of Congress
    • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and calendars via Outlook and Quorum
    • Lead data-collection and data-entry of Congressional engagements on behalf of Government Relations and Outreach Teams
  • Research and Analysis
    • Research and report on relevant interests, legislative actions, and activities by Members of Congress
    • Draft documents for internal and external use, including event summaries, hearing memos, and Capitol Hill correspondence
    • Analyze data to find trends and chart progress in achieving USGLC goals and objectives
  • Advocacy and Engagement with Congress
    • Work with Government Relations teammates to maintain relationships with Congressional offices
    • Monitor Congressional hearings and events
    • Assist with advocacy days and events featuring Members of Congress

Position Requirements

Attention to detail is a must. Strong knowledge of Excel and some experience with database management are preferred. Background in government relations, including knowledge of Capitol Hill is a plus.
