Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, Military Leaders and Corporate Executives to Outline Changing Face of Global Development

WASHINGTON—On the eve of President Obama’s trip to Africa, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition will feature the latest innovations in global development and diplomacy at its Washington Conference on Tuesday, June 25.  Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, current and past combatant commanders, and top business leaders will examine the changing landscape of development assistance and discuss how a smart power approach to foreign policy is critical to national and economic security.

The conference also will highlight new innovative technology solutions saving and improving lives around the world such as clean smoke-free cookstoves, backpacks that allow the transfer of clean water, nutritional supplements for children, and more.
