Commitment to Curriculum Participation: Our expectation is that all accepted Next Gen participants will be available to fully participate in all scheduled activities for the year-long program, with activities taking place between January 2025 and December 2025. Most activities will only require a computer and an internet connection to complete. Virtual Sessions 8-10 sessions take place on Zoom over the course of the year. Sessions are typically held one Wednesday per month from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. PT). Each session will run for 90 minutes and recordings will be provided, although live participation is preferred. Take Actions Participants will complete a minimum of 5 Take Actions by the end of the program. Opportunities include participation in advocacy meetings, public speaking opportunities at USGLC events, and various writing assignments. Some Take Action items will be led by USGLC staff, while others will require autonomy from participants to seek and carry out. USGLC Global Impact Forum – June 8-10, 2025 See below for more details. Program Completion – December 2025 Upon program completion, you will be named to the USGLC State Advisory Committee of your state.
Commitment to the USGLC 2025 Global Impact Forum:Our expectation is that all accepted Next Gen participants will travel and attend the USGLC’s annual Global Impact Forum and State Leaders Capitol Hill Day, held in Washington, DC on June 8-10, 2025. Related expenses (hotel room, travel and registration fee) will be covered by the USGLC as a benefit of acceptance to the program.
