Lee Satterfield is Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Ms. Satterfield rejoins the State Department after having previously served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Professional and Cultural Exchanges and as Acting Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs during the Obama Administration.

U.S. Global Leadership: During her tenure as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Satterfield spoke highly of the US Department of State and espnW Global Sports Mentoring Program, which “supports the United States’ global commitment of advancing the rights and participation of women and girls around the world.” (source)

 On Diplomacy: Satterfield said, “To cultivate the next generation of diplomats that reflect America’s diversity and 21^stcentury statecraft, the State Department cannot do it alone. We all have a role to play and can work together to build a better world.”
